Worried About Something?

I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them. "I can't figure things out!"

God says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"I'm worried and frustrated."

God says "Casting all your cares on Him for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

If you are exhausted and hungry, first take care of your physical needs. Remember the acronym H.A.L.T. : if you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired, then halt. Stop and eat, rest and recharge your batteries.

Don't isolate yourself. When you find an opportunity at a church which interests you, volunteer to help in some way. Start with something very small like making coffee or stuffing envelopes.

Is your work load too heavy?

The only survivor of a ship wreck was washed up on a small deserted island. He prayed feverishly to God to rescue him; and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forth coming. Exhausted he managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements and to store his few possessions.

One day after scavenging for food, he arrived back to find his hut in flames. The smoke was rolling up to the sky, the worst has happened; everything was lost. "God, ... how could you do this to me?" he cried.

Early the next day he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal" they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly or we are being tempted ... But don't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. (con' t next column)

Remember this the next time and there will be a next time, I assure you. If your little hut is burning to the ground, it could be the smoke signal that summons the grace of God. Remember God's will never put you in a situation or place his grace will not cover.

We say "It's impossible." God says "The things that are impossible with men are possible with God." (Luke 18:27).

We say: "I am too tired," God says "Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

We say "Nobody loves me," God says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His uniquely born son, that who ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

We say "I can't forgive myself," God says I forgive you: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

We say "I can't manage," Paul writes, "But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

If you don't know this wonderful God as your personal savior, you can accept Him right where you are by asking Him to come into your heart and give you wisdom and strength.
